Home School Agreement
As a school we will:
- Provide a safe and happy environment where all students are valued, respected and listened to,
- Provided excellent teaching and engaging curriculum to meet the needs of all the students,
- Provide as much support as we can to help your student meet their full potential,
- Provide opportunities for your student to practise what they have learnt in school at home,
- Regularly share the progress of the student, through handovers, three- and six-monthly reviews,
- Support the student to develop a moral and ethical compass for life enabling them to grow up to be the best person they can be through a Values-based education philosophy,
- Achieve high standards of behaviour by providing opportunities for students to develop positive social relationships, self-esteem and sense of responsibility,
- Teach the student to develop a positive attitude to one another, regardless of sex, race, culture, belief, values, age and need,
- Respect the confidentiality of information regarding each student
- Provide information to you about the school, including relevant policies, meetings, workshops and events.
As a carer we will:
- Make sure the student attends school regularly and arrives at school by 9.00am wearing correct school uniform (see uniform guidelines)
- Let the school know of any concerns or worries that may be affecting the student’s learning or behaviour promptly, so this can be resolved quickly.
- Support Apple Orchard’s Values-based education philosophy by encouraging the student to develop a positive attitude towards our diverse, multi-cultural community,
- Support and work with the school to ensure that the behaviour policies of the school are maintained,
- Respect the confidentiality of each child,
- Ensure I am kept up-to-date with important details of relevant policies, meetings, and events.
As a carer we will:
- Come to school (or college) regularly and on time,
- Wear correct school uniform (see guidelines) and be tidy in appearance
- Follow Apple Orchard’s Values-based education philosophy by respecting other student’s and member of staff’s culture, race, feelings, beliefs and values
- Follow the school, rules:
* Treat staff and pupils with respect
* Keep your hands and feet to yourself
* Arrive in class on time and stay in class
* Follow staff instructions
* No sexualised comments or gestures
- Accept responsibility for the things I do
- Be responsible for my school and home learning
- Take good care of the building, equipment and school grounds
- Tell a staff member if I am worried or unhappy
