Apple Orchard Receives Sensory Garden Donation from Co-op Local Community Fund
The Apple Orchard team are delighted to announce that the Co-op Local Community Fund has awarded us with a £150 donation to go towards to building our new sensory garden!
Paul (Co-op store manager) and Leighton (store charity lead) visited our school today and following a tour from our Head Boy and Headteacher Richard, presented us with a cheque for £150.
As a small secondary school for boys who have suffered trauma, neglect or abuse, while we have an outdoor space, we don’t currently have an area of quiet or reflection – something our students would greatly benefit from. Our industrious Head Boy is now leading a project to build a sensory garden for everyone to enjoy.
This wonderful donation from the Co-op will go towards the purchase of pots, a variety of plants and a bench where our students can relax in the peaceful space and nature around them.
