Residential Support Worker

Job Description :

FULL TIME 40 Hours /Week

Apple Orchard has four registered Children’s Homes within the Surrey and Sussex Borders. Each home is set in a rural location and offers a comfortable homely environment for young males aged 13-18 years.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience of working with teenage boys and have a willingness to further develop their skills. Level 3 diploma in Care/ Young People is desirable. You would need to be willing to engage the young people in a wide range of activities and support them through their time at Apple Orchard; guiding them towards Independence and Adulthood. You will need to be flexible with your working hours and be able to work a mixture of days, evenings and weekends.

Design Technology Teacher

Starting: Easter 2020 (if possible or September 2020)


We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed professional to join in the continued development and success of the school.  The successful candidate will have:

  • the ability to motivate and encourage young people
  • high expectations and a clear vision of educational excellence
  • outstanding classroom ability and behaviour management practice
  • the ability to create and deliver a stimulating programme of study across design technology and vocational skills
  • flexibility and willingness to work as part of our hardworking, supportive small team
  • ability to teach across other subjects with science and PE an advantage
  • QTS / QTLS

Apple Orchard is an expanding therapeutic community with a school attached. All young people in our care have significant SEMH concerns and as such we are looking for a teacher with a passion to work with those who are most vulnerable.
